The Birds of Kilimanjaro is by Kilimanjaro climbers, for Kilimanjaro climbers. We love mountain climbing and our team has personally climbed Mount Kilimanjaro many times. It is our passion to make the adventure of climbing Kilimanjaro as safe as possible for each and every climber, from a beginning hiker to an experienced trekker. Our Story

In 2014 we came to Tanzania and witnessed the majesty of Mount Kilimanjaro in person. Since then, our team has been living in the shadow of Africa’s highest mountain and a part of the climbing industry, working to conserve and protect Mount Kilimanjaro. Beyond operating traditional mountain treks, we also have organized record-breaking climbs and daring adventures. We know and love this great mountain.

It is through our experience operating Kilimanjaro treks and adventure expeditions that we realized the need for a reliable helicopter rescue service. Instead of waiting for someone else to start it, or depending on another organization to do this; we decided to found Kilimanjaro Birds, a reliable emergency rescue helicopter service serving even the highest camps of Mount Kilimanjaro. We invited several experienced aviation professionals to join our team, and have combined our own Kilimanjaro knowledge and experience with professional flying expertise to form Birds of Kilimanjaro with the mission of being the trusted provider for rescue and transportation services both on Mount Kilimanjaro and in the surrounding areas.
